The 2015 season officially begins today for Josh Timmerman Racing! After a long winter, we are ready to roll with a new engine and a new sponsor, Krieger Racing Engines.
Last season, we kicked off the Racing for HoPE campaign, and we plan to continue Racing for HoPE in 2015…more on that in a moment.
Our 2014 season was cut short with the mid-season closing of Baer Field Speedway last July. At the time of the unexpected closing, we were only 4 points behind first place in the BFS late model division. We had been the fastest qualifier three weeks in a row, and I’d captured my first victory in a late model. Momentum was building, and then everything came to a grinding halt. Over the winter, we regrouped, had a new engine built and we waited.
Now, we’re ready to roll again. This season we plan to take things one race at a time. Baer Field Speedway has reopened with new management, and we hope to run a few races there again this season. Lucas Oil Raceway in Brownsburg/Indy is promoting a few late model series and we hope to catch as many of those races as possible!
Today, we are at Baer Field Speedway, and we have Afton Jacks Racing for HoPE with us. Afton recently celebrated his 10th birthday in his hometown of Independence, Missouri where he lives with his parents, Kevin and Shauna Jacks. Afton is a fan of the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. (Hopefully he won’t mind riding around in the race car with a St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay Packers fan!)
Afton buddy, you’re the first one to test out this new motor. You’re getting the “royal” treatment racing style, so tighten your belts and hold on tight!
