Speed Talk

Last week, I had the opportunity to spend some time with Pete, Cliff, and Kenny at Speed Talk.

Speed Talk originated in 2009 as a weekly show broadcasting live from Baer Field Speedway in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Today, the show is syndicated and can be heard on radio stations across the U.S. and on the internet, as they talk racing, interview drivers and others in the racing industry, and talk with fans.  (They have interviewed Kyle Busch, Brad Keselowski,  Kevin Harvick, Dale Earnhart, Jr., and many others.)

While racing at Baer Field in 2010, I met these guys and have been campaigning to be on the show ever since. Apparently, my badgering worked because I was finally invited for an interview!  I was able to talk a little bit about Champion Racing Association (CRA) and my plans for the 2012 season, but more importantly, I was able to share a little about my involvement with Families for HoPE and raise some awareness about Holoprosencephaly. (Because I’m a little shy by nature, I was nervous.  I hope that I didn’t let any of the HPE families down.)

Please visit Speed Talk to listen to the 3/23/12 webisode and also please leave a comment on their website because I’d love to be on the show again!  Let them know if you’re a friend, a fan, an HPE family–and share your story–because these guys want to know more about Holoprosencephaly and want to help raise awareness, too.

Until next time,
Josh, #09
